![]() This manga feels like the characters will first start a friendship before their romance develops which is a nice change when other manga couples move from hate to love and completely skip over friendship step. They are a very awkward couple and their romance develops slower compared to some of the other manga, so it’s exciting to see where the author will take the story and how they will come to love one another, if that even happens at all. This one is different because the male lead is interested in another woman and doesn’t really care to get to know the female lead when she arrives at his kingdom. Synopsis: “A story of a princess married to a prince from another kingdom. But the lord has no interest in her or her childbearing potential!”-MyAnimeList Frustrated with Usagi’s lack of progress, her grandfather sends her to marry Lord Hanzo and have lots of ninja babies. Synopsis: “Usagi is the granddaughter of the leader of a prestigious ninja village, but she’s such a klutz that she’s never made it out of the kiddie class. Read it here Tsuki no Shippo (Tail of the Moon) Most couples face hardships in the early stages of the marriage but the couple in Goong has to deal with political tensions throughout the entire manga that at times threaten them to go their separate ways forever. This manga is different because it starts off like other arranged marriage manga where the couple does not like one another in the beginning, but once they fall in love and begin to accept one another, they are forced to face multiple conflicts that are trying to pull them apart. Synopsis: “Monarchy laid extinct in Korea since long ago, but what if Korea had continued monarchism? What if all the beautiful abandoned palaces were still actually filled with the royal families? What if the royal families continued with the normal royal customs? Welcome to the world where Korea never ended monarchism! Che-Gyeong, the high-school girl protagonist, ends up in a tragic moment in time when it has been found out that she has been promised in marriage (by her grandfather) to the current prince…who’s actually not at all what he seems to be from his good looks-in one word, he’s a big jerk.” -MyAnimeList Then the next day, she’s called in to see the president-whom she had never even seen before in the office-only to find out she’s to marry him! This manga has many plot twists and drama that keeps the reader constantly engaged chapter after chapter. This manga moves past the initial problem of an arranged marriage and deals with Soah’s internal conflict over the fact that she is not immortal like the Water God and will eventually have to part ways with him when she dies. The art is spectacular and it’s one of the few arranged marriages with a god character. This one is my favorite arranged marriage manga and you should definitely think about reading it. For Soah, this is a story of her faith…her life…her love…” -MyAnimeList The Water God rescues her to his Water Kingdom, where her new life begins. In order to appease the god, they marry Soah off to him by sacrificing her to the Water God in exchange for rain. ![]() The Water God is upset and so a long drought has been devastating the village people. Synopsis: “Soah is a girl from a small village. ![]() *The following manga descriptions might contain plot spoilers* Bride of the Water God Majority of the ones listed have a plot where both main characters are put into an arranged marriage and don’t like each other at first but fall in love over time. I’ve read a lot of manga in this genre and the titles included on this list are ones that stood out to me the most. I’m a huge arranged marriage manga fan, so I thought it was only appropriate to put together a list of some of my favorites.
